Dan believes that healthcare is a fundamental right and every American should have access to high-quality healthcare. That is why Dan supports a public option for healthcare so that every American, no matter their income, has access to free healthcare. In addition, Dan believes that Americans should also be able to purchase private health insurance if they choose. 

 

Prescription drugs are excessively expensive in the United States. According to the RAND Corporation, the United States spends 2.56 times more on prescription drugs than similar nations. Dan strongly supports empowering Medicare (or another public option for healthcare) to negotiate prescription drug prices to make prescription drugs more affordable.
