DAN GOLDMAN, CANDIDATE FOR CONGRESS IN NY-10 AND LEAD COUNSEL FOR TRUMP’S FIRST IMPEACHMENT, ENDORSED BY FORMER LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR RICHARD RAVITCH AND FORMER CONGRESSMAN STEVE ISRAEL
New York, NY - Dan Goldman, candidate for Congress in NY-10 and lead counsel for Trump’s first impeachment, was today endorsed by former Lieutenant Governor Richard Ravitch and former Congressman Steve Israel. These endorsements are a continuation of the campaign’s momentum and come after Goldman raised over $1.2 million from more than 2,100 individual contributions in just a month since declaring his candidacy, more than double the next largest end-of-quarter reported in the field, and polling that shows him as a frontrunner for the nomination.
“With our democracy under attack as never before, we must elect courageous leaders,” Richard Ravitch said. “Dan Goldman has the intelligence, creativity, and integrity needed for this moment. He is a skilled prosecutor who stood up to Trump and proved the case in the first impeachment. In this moment of great urgency, Dan is exactly the type of leader we need uniquely qualified to save our democracy and our fundamental rights. I am proud to support Dan Goldman in this campaign to represent us in Congress.”
“Dan Goldman’s skills, expertise, and courage are badly needed in Congress right now to stand up to Trump and his Republican supporters in Congress,” Steve Israel said. “He will be a strong voice for gun control, reproductive rights, and the right to vote. I know what it takes to win Congressional elections and am proud to be part of Dan’s growing campaign to defend our democracy, our fundamental rights, our safety, and our planet itself."
“I am honored to have earned the support of former Lieutenant Governor Richard Ravitch and former Congressman Steve Israel, two leaders who have spent their careers serving New York City and State,” Dan Goldman said. “Few elected officials past or present understand the concerns of New Yorkers at the state and federal level the way they do, and I am incredibly grateful for their vote of confidence in our campaign’s vision for commonsense and competent leadership. This is another sign of the momentum we are feeling as we campaign across the district and build this campaign to defend our democracy and protect our fundamental rights.

Ravitch was appointed as the chairman and CEO of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) in 1979, where he developed a long-term capital plan, budget, and financing for a system-wide upgrade of operating equipment and signal capabilities. In 1999, Ravitch was appointed co-chair of the Millennial Housing Commission, examining the federal government’s role in meeting the nation’s growing affordable housing challenges.
