DAN GOLDMAN, CANDIDATE FOR CONGRESS IN NY-10 AND LEAD COUNSEL FOR TRUMP’S FIRST IMPEACHMENT, ENDORSED BY MANHATTAN AND BROOKLYN CURRENT AND FORMER ELECTED OFFICIALS

New York, NY - Dan Goldman, candidate for Congress in NY-10 and lead counsel for Trump’s first impeachment, was today endorsed by five current and former elected officials from Brooklyn and Manhattan. The group includes Assemblymember Simcha Eichenstein, former Assemblymember James Brennan, former City Councilmember Kathryn Freed and Democratic District Leaders Jennifer Hoppe and Chris McCreight.

“Dan Goldman has shown real interest in engaging with the Boro Park community, and his personal background shows an understanding of our issues and needs,” Assemblymember Simcha Eichenstein said. “I know that Dan will be a strong advocate in Congress and that he has the experience and skills needed to deliver for the constituents I represent.”

“Brooklyn will be exceptionally well-served having Dan Goldman in Congress,” former Assemblymember James Brennan said, “Having represented residents of the borough for over 30 years, I know what it takes and I am confident that Dan has the public service experience necessary to ensure Brooklyn has a voice at the federal level.”

“At this critical time, when our basic freedoms are at stake, we need a skilled and experienced representative who will fight for our communities and our democracy. I trust Dan Goldman to be that person,” former City Councilmember Kathryn Freed said. “Dan listens to us and will work in partnership with all our communities across the district. We can count on him to fight for reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ rights, gun control, climate change, including effective resiliency measures based on science, community input and oversight, and to protect all our fundamental rights. Dan would be a tremendous progressive addition to the New York Congressional delegation, and I urge you to vote for him."

“Watching the first impeachment trial, I was struck by Dan's composure and courage in taking on Trump. His experience with the Judiciary Committee sets him apart; he's already worked alongside some of our most respected Congressmembers and proven how effective he can be,” Democratic District Leader Jennifer Hoppe said. “At a time when our democracy is threatened, it's essential that our new Congressmember can arrive in Washington and not only stand up for our district, but also work to protect our country's ideals. I'm confident Dan will work tirelessly for us in District 10 and for the country as a whole.”

“Dan Goldman has spent his entire career as a dedicated public servant and I know he will be a powerful voice for our community in Congress,” Democratic District leader Chris McCreight said. “Showing up matters, and Dan has been ready and willing to show up and listen, that’s why I’m so proud to endorse him.”

“I am humbled to receive the support of these great leaders in our communities,” Dan Goldman said. “Assemblymember Eichenstein, former Assemblymember Brennan, former Councilmember Freed and District Leaders Hoppe and McCreight have been powerful advocates for lower Manhattan and Brooklyn throughout their careers, and it is a privilege to have them by my side as we work to tackle the critical issues facing the district.”
