DAN GOLDMAN, CANDIDATE FOR CONGRESS IN NY-10 AND LEAD COUNSEL FOR TRUMP’S FIRST IMPEACHMENT, ENDORSED BY CHINATOWN AND SUNSET PARK COMMUNITY LEADERS
New York, NY - Dan Goldman, candidate for Congress in NY-10 and lead counsel for Trump’ first impeachment, was today endorsed by Chinatown and Sunset Park community leaders. These community leaders join a growing diverse coalition of community leaders and elected officials, including Assemblymember-in-Waiting Grace Lee, from across Brooklyn and Manhattan.
"For too long, the Chinese community has been forgotten about and treated as secondary. Dan Goldman has been engaged and proactive in meeting with our community. I believe that Dan Goldman is not just listening to our community concerns, he hears us. We need representation that has strength, knowledge, and the ability to caucus at all levels of Government to make our communities safer, stronger, and more affordable to everyone," said Jan Lee, 3rd generation Chinatown resident.
“I trust Dan Goldman to fight for our community and make sure that we are heard. He is a dedicated public servant fighting for safety and justice and he is the best choice for Congress. I support Dan and ask you to vote for him at the August 23rd election,” said Rosita Chan, President of Brooklyn Improvement Community Association, in her individual capacity.
"I am proud to endorse Dan Goldman because he has proven himself to be a champion of the people. He is dedicated to public service, to the safety of our communities, and to making sure that everyone is treated fairly. I know that he will stand up for us in Congress,” said Raymond Wang, President of the Tai Shan Du Hu Association of America, in his individual capacity.
“Dan Goldman is the leader our communities need in Congress to lead the fight to improves safety, transportation, and opportunities for small businesses. Join me and so many others in our communities in voting for Dan Goldman for Congress by Tuesday, August 23rd,” said Don Lee, community activist and Chair of Homecrest Community Services in Brooklyn, in his individual capacity.
“Jan, Rosita, Raymond, and Don are inspiring examples of community service and leadership,” Dan Goldman said. “The communities of Chinatown and Sunset Park have distinct issues and concerns that need to be addressed by their next Congressperson. I will work closely with leaders in the community to ensure that they have a voice and a powerful advocate in Washington.”
These endorsements come on behalf of the leaders in their individual capacities and do not reflect the views of the organizations they represent.
Dan Goldman and his wife, Corinne, live in lower Manhattan where they are raising their five children. In 2019, Dan Goldman served as lead counsel for the impeachment investigation of President Donald J. Trump for abusing his office for his personal interest regarding Ukraine. In that role, Goldman led depositions and questioned witnesses in public hearings, and testified before the House Judiciary Committee.
Prior to that, Goldman served for a decade as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York working with Preet Bharara. In that role, he held powerful actors accountable and made our city safer. He took on some of the office’s biggest and most consequential cases: prosecuting violent criminals and gun trafficking, mafia bosses and Russian organized crime, and landmark insider trading and major corporate fraud cases. In law school, Goldman contributed to Michelle Alexander’s seminal book, The New Jim Crow, which addressed the inequalities in our criminal justice system.
The Democratic Primary in New York’s 10th congressional district is on Tuesday, August 23.
